One feature I really appreciate about Wix’s templates is that many come with pre-installed apps you might need. Another downside is that once you select a template, you can’t change it. Unfortunately, this isn’t an exaggeration—you simply don’t have the option. If you want to completely redesign your website with a different template, you’ll need to start from scratch. So, be sure you’re happy with your choice before customizing it!
While other website builders offer fully mobile-responsive designs and the ability to switch templates with a click, Wix’s restrictions stem from its greater customization flexibility.
The more freedom you have to craft your own layout, the harder it is to transfer those changes to a mobile version or a new template.

And if you want even more flexibility, you can extend the functionality of elements with Wix Velo. This tool allows you to add custom JavaScript code or use Wix’s APIs to further customize how elements function.
Wix also provides plenty of guidance to help ensure you don’t end up creating “The World’s Worst Website” (if you know, you know). Grid lines help you center and align elements, and useful boundary lines guide you in arranging your content effectively.
While Wix’s editor isn’t the most advanced, there’s no need to worry—Wix has a solution for that too. The new Editor X is designed for agencies and professional designers, offering advanced features like CSS grids, element anchoring, custom breakpoints, and more. Although it’s not available with a standard Wix plan, it’s a great option if you like Wix’s features but need more sophisticated design tools.

You can edit everything you want in a matter of seconds, which is quite advantageous. Upon selecting it, a sidebar containing the ability to modify titles, photos, captions, and other elements will show up. Even if this is your first time using the Wix website, it will make editing much easier.
